Haisam Hassanein is a Middle East analyst specializing in Arab-Israel relations, Egypt, and U.S. policy in the region. Previously, he was an Associate Fellow and the 2016-17 Glazer Fellow at The Washington Institute, focusing on economic relations between Israel and Arab states. He has published in numerous media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, Foreign Affairs, New York Daily News, and Jerusalem Post.
Hassanein earned his B.A. in political science from Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania. After completing an internship at the Institute in 2014, he enrolled in an M.A. program in Middle Eastern and African history at Tel Aviv University, where he was named the graduate school valedictorian. Haisam is also a contributor to Fikra Forum.
