The prospect of a full shale collapse has spurred politicians and oil companies to raise furious questions about the future of U.S. economic and military cooperation with Saudi Arabia.

“Oil Prices Collapse.” If you read this headline about the oil markets on Monday, it was wrong. What it should have said was: “U.S. Oil Prices Collapse.” In the rest of the world, oil prices were weak but, in the U.S., the market flipped and sellers were willing to pay for buyers to take consignments. The reason? There is so much oil available that we are running out of places to store it...
