Alberto Fernandez is vice president of the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). Previously, he served as presi­dent of the Middle East Broad­casting Networks (which includes Al-Hurra), U.S. charge d’affaires in Sudan (2007-2009), and coordinator for stra­tegic counterterrorism communications at the State Department (2012-2015), among other senior positions in Washington, the Middle East, and Africa.
