Ellen Laipson is a distinguished fellow and president emeritus at the Stimson Center, where she directs the Middle East/Southwest Asia Program. Her twenty-five years of government service include posts on the National Intelligence Council, National Security Council, and the State Department's Policy Planning Staff. She was also a member of President Obama's Intelligence Advisory Board from 2009 to 2013.
