Chandler Atwood

Lt. Col. (Sel.) Chandler P. Atwood (USAF) is a senior U.S. Air Force intelligence officer who has deployed and participated in Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, Noble Eagle, Southern Watch, and Northern Watch. Prior to joining The Washington Institute, he served as a director of operations at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), the world’s most advanced data processing, analysis, and dissemination center for geospatial intelligence technical sensors across the globe. In that capacity, he managed an annual budget of $100.5 million and led more than 650 military, civilian, and contract personnel in providing integrated, tailored intelligence products to joint forces, policymakers, and the intelligence and acquisition communities.

Major Atwood entered the Air Force in 2001 after graduating from The Citadel summa cum laude. A former instructor at the USAF Weapons School, he also holds a master’s degree in strategic intelligence from American Military University.
