Chad Wahlin

Chad G. Wahlin, a commander in the United States Navy, was a visiting military fellow at The Washington Institute in 2014-15.

A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and the Naval War College, Commander Wahlin has served at sea in the destroyers USS Cushing and USS Kinkaid and in the German frigates FGS Emden and FGS Lutgens. On shore, he has served with Naval Forces Europe in Naples, Italy, and with the Chief of Naval Personnel at the Pentagon. Most recently, he served as international officer and exchange programs section head for the Chief of Naval Personnel and as the Black and Caspian Sea portfolio manager at the Navy International Program Office.

Commander Wahlin has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, and the Navy Achievement Medal, among other personal and unit awards.
