Virginia MacArthur, originally from Atlanta, was raised in Morocco from the age of two and grew up in Casablanca and Ifrane, where her family still resides. After spending two decades abroad, she now works as a research assistant with The Washington Institute’s Rubin Program on Arab Politics, focusing mainly on North Africa, particularly Libya and Egypt. She speaks English, French, and Darija natively.
