John M. "Jack" Keane is a retired general and former vice chief of staff of the U.S. Army. He retired from active duty in 2003 following a distinguished four-decade career that included command of the 101st Airborne Division. Later, he helped develop the "Surge" strategy for Iraq as an influential advisor to Army leaders. He is now a Fox News national security commentator.
