Hassan Barari

Hassan Barari is a Lafer international fellow at The Washington Institute, specializing in the Arab-Israeli conflict, Israeli domestic and foreign policy, Israel-Jordan relations, and regional politics. He is a professor of Middle Eastern politics at the University of Jordan.

Dr. Barari has written widely in Arabic and English, including Israeli Politics and the Middle East Process, 1988-2002 (London and New York: Routledge, 2004) and Jordan and Israel: Ten Years Later (Amman: CSS, 2004). He has also contributed numerous articles to international and local referred academic journals.

Dr. Barari appears frequently as a commentator for Jordanian and other Arab television programs and has participated in international conferences throughout Europe, the United States, and the Middle East.

Education: Ph.D., Durham University, England

Expertise: Israel-Jordan relations; the politics of Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinians; the Arab-Israeli peace process; and Arab and Islamic politics
