Eric Rosand directs "The Prevention Project: Organizing Against Violent Extremism," based at the Global Center on Cooperative Security. He recently left the State Department, where he served as counselor to the undersecretary for civilian security, democracy, and human rights. Previously, he was a senior official in the department's Bureau of Counterterrorism, where he spearheaded efforts to develop and launch the Global Counterterrorism Forum, Hedayah, the International Institute for Justice and the Rule of Law, the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF), and, most recently, the Strong Cities Network. From 2006 to 2010, he co-directed the Center on Global Counterterrorism Cooperation (now the Global Center on Cooperative Security).
