Ashley Damron is a visiting defense fellow at The Washington Institute. Most recently, in the office of the deputy undersecretary of the Air Force for International Affairs (SAF/IA), she was the chief negotiator responsible for agreements on cooperative research and development programs between the United States, Japan, and South Korea.
Previously, Ms. Damron served as the Pakistan and Lebanon country director for SAF/IA. She managed the $3.5 billion Pakistani foreign military sales portfolio, oversaw all security assistance activities, prepared the interagency for bilateral meetings with the Pakistani air force, and coordinated discussions with congressional members and staffers. In addition, she provided political and military affairs analysis concerning Pakistan and Lebanon to senior leadership in the U.S. Air Force.
Ms. Damron recently received the Air Force Exemplary Civilian Service Award for her work in security policy and international affairs.
