بن فیش‌من هموند ارشد در انستیتو واشنگتن برای سیاست خاور نزدیک و عضو برنامه بِث و دیوید گیدولد برای سیاست عربی است. او از سال ۲۰۰۹ تا ۲۰۱۳ در شورای امنیت ملی کار کرده و از جمله دستیار اجرایی سفیر دنیس راس بوده، مدیر بخش لیبی و بعدا مدیر بخش شمال آفریقا و اردن ]در شورا[ بوده است.
