Jacob Walles

Biography

Jacob Walles is a former senior advisor on foreign fighters with the State Department's Bureau of Counterterrorism and Countering Violent Extremism. Previously, he served as U.S. ambassador to Tunisia and deputy assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs. For more than twenty years, he was an active participant in American efforts to promote peace in the region, dating back to the 1991 Madrid Conference.
